Remanufacturing oriented production equipment development
In May 2008, Brazil and Germany established the
Brazilian German Collaborative Research Initiative in Manufacturing
Technology. This initiative is financed by the Deutsche
Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) on the German side and CAPES, CNPq and
FINEP on the Brazilian side. It focuses on the research of how
production technology can foster sustainable value creation. Within
this initiative, the three universities: Technische Universität
Berlin (TUB), Universidade de São Paulo (USP) and Universidade
Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) work together on a joint research
project entitled “Remanufacturing oriented production equipment
development”. In this project, remanufacturing scenarios for
sustainable value creation will be developed. Areas of application for
production equipment for various fields of development will be
identified, and adequate strategies for competition and collaboration
in these remanufacturing scenarios will be developed. Furthermore, a
technology roadmap for sustainable value creation with remanufacturing
oriented production equipment in Brazil and Germany will be provided.
Based on these results a remanufacturing oriented model for production
equipment will be deduced. Finally, the project aims at demonstrating
the results through an exemplary implementation.
